In 1984, Adams launched his breakthrough album Reckless, which was approved platinum five times in the United States and diamond in Canada. The lead single from the album was "Run to You" which pointed at number one on the Mainstream Rock Tracks, while singles like "Heaven" and "Summer of '69" would be Adams' first singles to chart in mainland Europe. While the follow up to Reckless, Into the Fire didn't get as much awareness as Adams' previous album, though it included the hit single "Heat of the Night" which pointed at number two on the Mainstream Rock Tracks.
