Local bands vie to open for Adams

For Bryan Adams in the Pune leg of his upcoming tour, an Indian band will have the chance to open the Bryan Adams Live Full Band Show World Tour. Rockathon, a rock band contest, is a plum chance for bands all over the country to compete for the honour.

After five years Bryan Adams will be touring India,he last visited India in 2006.Adams has a huge fan following here and will be returning for the third time after his maiden tour in 2001.

He is slated to perform in five cities over a six-day period. His concert in Pune will be the first in the tour, and is slated to be a 90-minute performance.

“We’ve received responses from around 60 bands from Pune, Mumbai, and even Shillong and Darjeeling,” says Keyur Godse, owner of Sixteen By Sixty-Four Media, the organisers of the contest as well as the concert.
